This morning I took the bike out for my first ride in 5 years. I had a route planned, knowing where I wanted to get to before heading home but didn't really pay attention to the actual distance involved.

I managed to get into a good rhythm and was covering a mile roughly every 6 minutes and finished with an overall distance of 6.98 miles which I'm pretty happy after years of inactivity.

A couple of things I want to change with my ride tomorrow:

  • Sort a riding play list Setting the entire iPod to shuffle doesn't make for inspiring listening when you have a mixture of genres.
  • Spread resting periods I rode over half the route before resting and it caused me to tire easily in the latter part of the ride.

So far so good. Just got to make sure the motivation sticks when this fine weather decides to move elsewhere.
