Pretty much every day while eating lunch, I spend some time trawling my Twitter stream and going through my Delicious network for things of interest to check out.

This particular lunchtime, I came across a post by Drew McLellan expressing his support of an idea spawned by Chris Shiflett, going by the name of Ideas of March.

This idea rocks

The character limit on Twitter sometimes forces the authour the reduce their opinions and links down to a simple "Check this out, it's awesome ~ [INSERT LINK]" and this is possibly where the appropriate switch should be made to a blog post. Blogs give an opportunity to express oneself in greater detail and reflect on why something is so awesome or, if the case may be, why you disagree with a particular viewpoint or idea. They create a space where more thoughtful and expanded ideas can flourish outside the constraints of 140 characters.

I love to write on this blog and I don't do it nearly enough as I would like so I pledge to write more during the month of March and express more thoughts and opinions on this blog.

If you wish to join in the blog revival, all you need to do is:

  • Write a post called Ideas of March
  • List some of the reasons you like blogs
  • Pledge to blog more the rest of the month
  • Share your thoughts on Twitter with the #ideasofmarch hashtag

Get writing, get posting!
