Joel Meyerowitz

Over the last few months I've been growing more and more interested in photography. Not just the practical side but the rich history that goes with it. On my journey for knowledge I came across Joel Meyerowitz, a photographer based in New York. He is probably most well known for his work as a street photographer but also does lots of work using a large format camera.

I decided to grab a book of his work and the things I see in it really grabbed me. The thing I like most about the book is with each photograph there is a short piece of text telling the story behind the shot or an analysis of why he took the shot in the first place. To me it makes looking at the photos that much more interesting. You can really project yourself into the space and get a real sense of what was going on around him. If you're a fan of street photography, this book is for you.
