Need to read
I'm currently sitting in the office of Oli and Chris having just got back from this year's DIBI conference reflecting on the work I do and the drive to learn even more.
On the drive down from Newcastle, Mark (aka greenboyroy) and I were discussing our reading habits. I have many books in the pipeline that I plan to read but I often buy faster than I read so I find myself with an ever growing reading list and am somewhat overwhelmed. My main problem is I set very little time aside on a daily or weekly basis to read sometimes resulting in me not reading anything for weeks on end.
Mark mentioned an idea he'd had which takes the general idea of Project365, a photography project where you take a photo every day for a year, and applying it to reading setting a target of a chapter a day.
I thought this was a great idea so I've decided to take it on board and run with it. I hate starting year long projects in June but waiting for January 1st seems utterly pointless so I shall be picking up a book tonight and getting this project underway.
If you find yourself in the same boat and want to join in, please feel free and let me know as I'd love to see how others get on. Also, don't forget to post on Twitter every now and then using the hashtag #365chapters to keep us updated.
Happy reading!
