Week notes #14

Weeks seem to be flying by faster and faster! Here's another quick round-up of things in my life.

Wednesday was Lu's birthday so I took the day (and the rest of the week) off work. We didn't get up to much to be honest. We took our eldest to school and then spent the day chilling out in front of the telly for the most part. Thursday we decided to get a bit of tennis in. We went to a local public tennis court and knocked some balls around for a bit. I may talk a bit more about tennis in another post (spoilers: I'm rubbish at tennis but I don't care).

Our eldest son also finished school for Summer on Thursday so we took advantage of the weather and went to the park with his school friends.

Friday we played Tetris with our bedroom furniture in preparation for our bedroom getting re-plastered over the weekend. Parts of the house now look like an obstacle course. We've got about another week (or until we've painted the room) before we can start getting things back in order.

As a result of the Tetris playing, our eldest also took the opportunity to look in our attic storage and found my old Star Wars toys, kick-starting a possible Star Wars obsession much like I had when I was a kid.

Our youngest continues to surprise us. Despite only being 7 months, he's picking up lots of speed moving around and he's now starting to try pull himself up to standing. We reckon he'll be walking before he turns 1 in December. Will report back on that.

Last week, I mentioned about finishing Chapter 4 of my comic and brining the story-arc to a conclusion. Well, feedback on another section of the book came back a day or so sooner than I expected so I opted to tackle the feedback first to get as much of that section in the can as possible. I've got just one more note from my editor to address before I can send the draft back.

Ideally, I'd like to get the entire book completed in rough form before starting the pencil work but I'm acutely aware that time keeps ticking away so I may need to sideline my ideal process in order to get things actually finished. I'll just play it by ear this week. If I can get more of Chapter 4 towards the finish line, then that'll be a step in the right direction.
