Week notes #19

I'm a couple of days late with this one but I'm struggling to find time to slot this in so it's gonna be a short and sweet one today.

We've had a rough week. My aunt was diagnosed with cancer last year and while she fought a good fight, sadly she passed away in the early hours of Monday morning. She died peacefully with my Uncle and my two cousins by her side.

Lu and I went to see her later on Monday morning to say our goodbyes. Unfortunately I didn't get to speak to her in the days before she passed so I used this time to say what I'd planned.

The comic

After weeks and weeks of scribbling, I finally finished the A4 rough drafts for the third section of the book! I sent the draft off to my editor last night so I'll need to set aside time to work through his feedback in the coming week or so.

In the meantime, I'll turn my attention to the fourth and final chapter where the different story threads will converge into a satisfying ending. That's the plan anyway.

I finished a draft of the final chapter weeks ago but I read it back and it just didn't feel right to me. Everything is going in the right general direction, just the beats weren't quite hitting where and how I think they should. By the time I write next weeks notes, I should have got this chapter into a state I'm happy with. Once there, I'll be on to...
